St. Mary’s Book Week celebrations kicked off on Tuesday with the annual LSEY (Linking School and Early Years) Book Day Street Celebrations. The Street Walk by our Junior Students was filled with Super Heroes, Cinderellas, Goblins, Witches, a Duck, and even a White Rabbit!
Hastings main street came alive with Shop fronts being decorated with themes from books, and shop traders generously donating their shop spaces to accommodate St. Mary’s and other Hastings schools and Kindergartens for a story reading by volunteers and older school children.
St Mary’s students had a great time listening to stories being read by older students, being involved in the community, and mingling within the town.
If that wasn’t exciting enough, the whole school Book Day on Thursday bought with it lots of activities based around the this years ‘Book Week’ voted best books, and a performance ‘Super Duper’.
