Grade 3/4 Camp – Forest Edge

This week Grade 3 and 4 set off to Forest Edge camp, in Neerim.  It was a beautiful setting, with lots of wide open spaces and streams to explore, discover, have fun or just chill out!

We were lucky enough to have fabulous weather, and really enjoyed our surroundings.

Our activities included:

Bush Hut building: We built a Hut using only our natural surroundings, (tree branches, bark, etc) then we had to go inside our hut and make sure it was waterproof. (Some of us got a bit wet as we had to test out our waterproofing with a bucket full of water from the creek – but that’s OK.  It was such a nice day, we didn’t mind.)

Flying Fox: Zip-lining down over the valley at Forest Edge – it was awesome!

Campfire Cooking: Yummy Damper with Jam or honey for our Morning Tea – made by us!

Archery: Trying for the bulls-eye.  Some of us were spot on!

We were lucky enough to have fabulous weather, and really enjoyed our surroundings.

We also had a night walk, where our brave teachers took us across the ‘Bridge of Doom, over the River of Death, to get to the Mountain of Menace’.  We had to put our brave faces on at times.  Luckily, we all survived!

We had so much fun! We can’t wait to do it all again next time.
